Member Expectations

Along with our Policies and Procedures, North Jersey Business Council has instituted Member Expectations to help you get the most out of our group and ensure your success as a productive NJBC member.

NJBC Members are expected to:

Attend all meetings. NJBC meets every other Tuesday at Nero's in Livingston. Policies and Procedures allow for two missed meetings per quarter. All meetings begin at 7:15 AM and you are expected to arrive on time as well as stay until the meeting ends at 8:30 AM.

Attend your assigned monthly lunch bunch with two other NJBC members. Lunch bunches can also be scheduled for breakfast, dinner or any time agreed to by your group.

Attend the three to five planned social functions per year, including the annual holiday party in December.

Develop relations with network partners OUTSIDE of the above mandatory meetings. No one receives business solely because they are a member of a professional networking group. Business and referrals are earned when people get to know you on a personal as well as professional level, and this takes time and effort. Chatting with other members for a few brief minutes before a bi-weekly meeting is not enough. They call it net-WORK for a reason. Have patience and put the effort in.

Treat the referrals you receive as you would treat that of a close friend or relative.

Pay your quarterly dues of $200.00 on time.

Enter all leads you give through the NJBC website in a timely fashion.

Be an active participant on the NJBC committee you are assigned to.

Help NJBC grow by inviting other professionals to meetings and events.

Our group's long standing success is due to the membership's continuing commitment to all of the above. If you are committed to NJBC you will have a great experience, build your business, make new friends and help your clients by giving them access to your fellow group members.
